Reduce, Reuse & Recycle: Giving New Life to Old Candle Jars

Are you guilty of hoarding old candle jars and unsure of what to do with those beautiful glass jars once you’ve burned your candle all the way to the bottom? You’re definitely not alone! We all love the wonderful smell and moods created by our favorite fragrances, but are unsure of what to do with all those jars once they’ve burned up that last bit of wax. We’ve listened to your suggestions and we are excited to announce that we’ve revamped our Reuse and Recycle in-store Program to make it easier than ever to give your old The Candle Lab jars a new life!

The Reuse Program

Here’s how it works:

1. Clean Out Your Jar: Once your The Candle Lab candle has burned all the way down, remove any excess and leftover wax using the freezer or hair dryer method. Here’s a great video to show you our favorite ways to clean out old jars! Once all of the wax has been removed, simply clean the glass with warm, soapy water. If you are unable to remove the metal wick holder at the bottom of the jar, don’t fret! We can get this out for you in-store.
2. Bring It Back to The Candle Lab: Bring your cleaned-out jar(s) back to either of our Cincinnati locations (Anderson or OTR), and we’ll re-wick your jar and give it that second chance at life. We’ll even give you 15% off the price of that candle jar as a thank you for participating!

The Recycle Program

If you’re unable to reuse your candle jar due to soot build-up or you’d simply prefer to recycle it, our recycle program has you covered. Here’s what to do:

1. Bring Back Your Jars: Gather up your empty The Candle Lab jars and bring them to either of our Cincinnati locations.
2. Receive Your Discount: For every The Candle Lab jar you bring back, you’ll receive $1 off per jar that you can use toward your next purchase. Please note that your purchase must be made at the time of recycling!
3. Enjoy Your Savings: The more you buy, the more you save! You can continue enjoying our candles guilt-free.

Upcycle Your Candle Jars!

If you’re feeling crafty, why not upcycle your old candle jars into something new, beautiful, and useful? Here are a few ideas to get you started:

1. Storage Containers: Use them to store bathroom items like cotton balls, q-tips, or makeup brushes, or office supplies like paper clips and pens.
2. Mini Planters: A favorite of ours! Transform your candle jars into mini plant pots for succulents, small herbs, or a mini flower bouquet. Just add some soil and your favorite greenery!
3. Votive Holder: Give your candle jar new life by using it as a stylish votive candle holder! We already know it’s perfect for keeping wax contained within it’s beautiful walls. This is a simple way to keep the candle light burning!
